Daniel Boulud has been named honorary president of the Bocuse d’Or Grand Finale, which will take place in Lyon on January 24 and 25, 2027. The appointment places a chef born in the Lyon region at the head of the competition created by Paul Bocuse, four decades after he built the foundations of an international career in the United States.
From New York, Daniel Boulud has developed a restaurant group that now extends to more than 25 addresses worldwide. Throughout that expansion, his cuisine has remained connected to the French repertoire, interpreted through the ingredients, cultures and dining habits of each city. His nomination acknowledges both that international influence and the place he has given French gastronomy beyond its borders.
The Grand Finale will bring the teams selected through the Bocuse d’Or continental competitions together at Sirha Lyon. As honorary president, Daniel Boulud will accompany a new generation of candidates at the final stage of a competition built around technical mastery, creativity and the collective work of the chef and commis.
