Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal will appear together in The Rise of the Rockstar Chef, a three-part BBC documentary scheduled for November 2026. Produced by Studio Ramsay Global, the series follows their careers against the social and cultural changes of Britain in the 1990s and 2000s, when chefs became increasingly visible public figures.
The opening episode follows White’s rise at Harvey’s, where a young Ramsay worked under him, while Blumenthal was beginning his own career. Interviews with the three chefs are accompanied by accounts from food critics, maîtres d’hôtel and former commis chefs. Their recollections examine the working relationships, rivalries and ambitions behind the restaurants that helped change perceptions of British dining.
Directed and produced by Zoë Dobson, the series culminates in an on-screen reunion of White, Ramsay and Blumenthal. The conversation revisits defining moments in their careers and the legacy of that period for the profession. Commissioned by the BBC, the documentary will also reach international broadcasters through distribution by Fox Entertainment Global.
