La Réserve Firenze: Six apartments bring new life to Florentine Palazzo Segni

La Réserve opens its first Italian address today, October 16, with six serviced apartments inside Palazzo Segni, a 15th-century building on Via Santo Spirito in Florence’s Oltrarno district. The property brings Michel Reybier’s private-residence concept into a neighbourhood of artisan workshops, galleries and restaurants on the left bank of the Arno. Olivia and Grégory Marciano, who have lived in Florence since 2019, acquired the palazzo in 2022. Its transformation has taken four years, with interior designers Gilles & Boissier overseeing the restoration.

Hand-restored frescoes, coffered ceilings, traditional terracotta floors and Sienese travertine retain the building’s architectural character, alongside works from the owners’ personal art collection. The apartments range from 180 to 210 square metres, with one to three bedrooms. Shared spaces include a lounge, a billiards room, a library devoted to Italy, art and design, a gym and a shaded patio. A dedicated housekeeper looks after each apartment, while the house manager helps guests explore the city through private cultural visits and introductions.

Food provides a direct connection to the neighbourhood: the Florentine trattoria Camillo supplies the in-apartment dining service. Guests can also arrange wine tastings, cooking and mixology workshops, or tennis among the olive trees on the owners’ estate. With Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio nearby, La Réserve Firenze offers a base from which to walk the city, then return to the space and routines of a private home. The involvement of Camillo gives that residential approach a local expression, bringing an established Florentine kitchen to the guests’ own table.
