Five chefs, three American cities and a series of encounters between some of the country’s Michelin-starred kitchens. Capital One has brought together Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Jeremiah Langhorne, Trevor Moran, Noah Sandoval and Michael Cimarusti for the third edition of its Dinner Party series. Running from October through December 2026, the programme moves between New York, Washington, D.C., and Chicago, with each gathering offering a different interpretation of contemporary American dining.
The series began on October 22 at Jean-Georges in New York, where Jean-Georges Vongerichten hosted an evening devoted to his interpretation of French cuisine. Born in Strasbourg and trained under Paul Haeberlin and Paul Bocuse, the chef has spent decades developing a culinary language built around lighter preparations, aromatic broths, herbs and seasonal ingredients. Guests began with a cocktail reception at Nougatine before moving to his two-Michelin-starred restaurant for a tasting menu.
The next gathering, scheduled for November 7, will reunite Jeremiah Langhorne of The Dabney in Washington, D.C., and Trevor Moran of Locust in Nashville. Both chefs spent time at Noma in Copenhagen, although their careers have since taken them towards different expressions of American regional cooking. Langhorne draws extensively on the agricultural and maritime traditions of the Mid-Atlantic, while Moran approaches Southern ingredients through a broader range of culinary influences.
Their collaboration will take the form of a Thanksgiving masterclass, inviting guests into the kitchen before a multicourse dinner prepared around The Dabney’s wood-burning hearth. The occasion also brings together two chefs whose friendship began while working in Europe. Their shared experience and individual approaches to ingredients provide the foundation for an evening devoted to the traditions of an American holiday.
On December 3, the series will conclude in Chicago, where Noah Sandoval will welcome Michael Cimarusti to Oriole for a four-hands dinner. The meeting brings together two restaurants with five Michelin stars between them: Oriole, awarded two stars, and Providence in Los Angeles, which holds three. Sandoval has spent a decade developing Oriole’s cooking, while Cimarusti has established Providence as a reference for contemporary seafood cuisine.
For the Chicago dinner, the chefs intend to revisit dishes that have helped define their respective restaurants. The collaboration will bring the Providence team into Oriole’s kitchen for an evening shaped by two distinct culinary careers. It also offers an opportunity to consider how established dishes evolve when their creators work alongside another chef.
The Dinner Party series reflects the continuing interest in collaborations that allow chefs to work outside their usual surroundings. Whether through a masterclass, a tasting menu or a four-hands dinner, each gathering offers a different relationship between the chefs and their guests. The programme is reserved for eligible Capital One cardholders, with tickets available through Capital One Entertainment.
